If you`re in the mood for exploring, grab a taxi or bus, or rent a car and go! There are a great variety of things to do and places to see in the Riviera Maya. There are Mayan ruins, secluded beaches, cenotes (sinkholes) and lush jungle all within one hour of Tulum.

• Bahias de Punta Soliman
  Spend a peaceful day at the Restaurante Oscar y Lalo. The bay here is beautiful and you can snorkel or kayak on the reef. there is also an area for camping.
• Cobá and Chichen Itza Ruins
  These famous ruins are of great historical importance. Many travel agencies sell complete guided tours; independent travelers can easily find a bus or go by rental car.
• Cenotes
  There are countless cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula. These fresh water sinkholes are a great place to take a swim, snorkel and scuba dive. You will see signs along the highway for various cenotes. Some of the more popular are Cenote Azul, Dos Ojos, Cenote Cristal & Car Wash Cenote. There are also numerous undeveloped Cenotes for those who like to explore.
• Xel-Ha
  A lovely Nature park, both freshwater and saltwater fed. A great place for snorkeling with tropical fish, or swimming with dolphins. The park is self-contained with shops and restaurants.
• Sian Ka`an Biosphera Reserve

• Playa del Carmen
  Take a stroll on Playa’s 5th Avenue. With a variety of restaurants, bars, discos and shops, this place is buzzing day and night.
• Cozumel
  Take the ferry from Playa and spend the day on the Island. Snorkeling, diving and partying seem to be the biggest draws on Cozumel.
